Volunteering Opportunities

The Lancaster Canal provides some fantastic opportunities for volunteering in various roles

Our National Lottery Heritage Fund programme has so far created roles for volunteers to train with the National Dry Stone Walling Association to undertake dry stone wall repair work in the Stainton, Hincaster and Sedgwick area and training from the Oral History Society to gather local people's stories about the rich heritage and history of the canal to create an online archive for future generations. We are always seeking more volunteers for these and new projects as they arise.
